About the North Jutland Police prosecution service

Covering an area of approximately 7,000 square kilometres, the North Jutland police district is Denmark's second largest police district. The police district consists of nine local authority districts: Mariagerfjord, Vesthimmerland, Rebild, Aalborg, Brønderslev, Jammerbugt, Hjørring, Læsø, and Frederikshavn.

The North Jutland Police headquarters are located in Aalborg, and the three local police stations are located in Hjørring, Frederikshavn, and Hobro. The prosecution service, located at the headquarters, prosecutes criminal cases before the courts of Aalborg and Hjørring.

The North Jutland Police prosecution service has around 70 staff members, organised in three prosecution divisions. In addition to cases from the local police stations, each division deals with cases within its own specialised areas. Prosecution Division South deals with organised and economic crime; Prosecution Division North deals with crimes against persons and non-criminal law; and the Prosecution Division for Legality, Quality and Development is responsible for matters concerning legality and quality assurance, as well as Development.
