About the Western Copenhagen Police prosecution service

The Western Copenhagen Police District comprises 11 local authority districts: Albertslund, Ballerup, Brøndby, Glostrup, Gladsaxe, Herlev, Hvidovre, Høje-Taastrup, Ishøj, Rødovre and Vallensbæk.

The Western Copenhagen Police headquarters are located in Albertslund, where the prosecution service is also based. In addition, the district has local police stations at Local Police East, which covers the local authority districts of Brøndby, Glostrup, Hvidovre, and Rødovre; Local Police West, which covers the local authority districts of Albertslund, Høje-Taastrup, Ishøj, and Vallensbæk; and Local Police North, which covers the local authority districts of Gladsaxe, Herlev, and Ballerup. The prosecution service conducts criminal proceedings before the Court of Glostrup.

The Western Copenhagen Police prosecution service has around 70 staff members, organised in three prosecution divisions. In addition to cases from the local police stations, each division deals with cases within its own specialised areas: General Criminal Cases, Special Criminal Cases, and Quality and Development.
